Youth Leadership Camps
Held in July and December in Kinshasa, these conferences offer youth the opportunity to be mentored, equipped, empowered, and trained from selected community and influential world leaders. Youth are inspired to dream big, embrace innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, and to engage their communities to create opportunities for sustainable development.
About Our Camps
Our Youth Leadership Camps are three to six day camps that include a variety of speakers, workshops, breakout group sessions, community field trips, and networking opportunities for local youth. Meals are included as part of the conference, and we encourage community members, activists, and local stakeholders to take part in the camps. A typical day at a Youth Leadership Camp involves three speakers on a topic that is relevant to our youth, followed by group breakout sessions, a speaker panel with questions and answers, and workshops where youth can work on applying the information that has been presented. Topics range from general leadership skills to political activism, from health education to social mobilization. Our camps focus on providing our youth with the opportunity to build relationships with our speakers, who are community members that have been successful in their own career path, in an effort to inspire and challenge our youth to implement their ideas and pursue their dreams.
